Princess Sugar Pie presses the "Easy Button" at Staples! Now,"That Was Easy"!

Dear Friends and Fans of Princess Sugar Pie,

I just wish that having my yearly vaccinations were "That Easy" when I press the "Easy Button" at Staples! Last week, on Monday August 3rd, My Daddy took me to have my yearly vaccinations. Everything seemed to be going Ok until late Tuesday Night and Early Wednesday Morning when my Daddy noticed that I felt rather hot to the touch. My paw pads and ears were burning up with fever when Daddy touched them causing him to be very concerned. When I kissed him, he noticed that my tongue felt very hot too. As soon as Dr. Dennis's "Animal Clinic" opened up, Daddy made a call to them about my condition. When Daddy told Patsy that I was having a possible allergic reaction to my shots, she told him to bring me over to the "Animal Clinic" ASAP.

When I arrived there, I didn't have to wait to be treated. Dr. lynne took my temperature and it was 106.7 degrees which is extremely high for a feline which normally runs around 102.5 degrees. Dr. Lynn immediately started me on an "IV" to hydrate me then she gave me a shot of "Rimadyl" to counter react my allergic reaction. It was good that my Daddy noticed how I felt because I probably would have died. It is imperative that all Human Daddy's and Mommy's watch their Baby Cats closely after they get their yearly vaccinations, just in case the Cat's have an allergic reaction. If your cat has an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical treatment from your veterinarian. Also, make sure your veterinarian "Pre Treats" your cat on their next vaccination so they won't have another allergic reaction. Note: cats can have an allergic reaction to their shots at any time even if that hasn't happened before so observe your cat closely Ok.

Even though, I was feeling much better, I still wasn't out of the woods yet. My Daddy had to take me back to see Dr. Dennis on Tuesday, August the 11th for more treatment because I was nauseated and my bowels weren't functioning right. Dr. Dennis gave me a shot of "Reglin" to calm my stomach and also gave me some liquid medicine to calm my bowels. I don't like the liquid medicine called "Flagyl" very much because it makes me drool and the taste isn't that great either but I have to take it in order to get well. It is now 11pm on Wednesday night and I'm doing so much better thanks to my Human Daddy for loving and caring about me so much. I want to thank my Dr.Dennis and his staff for giving me such wonderful care. I also want to thank my many adoring Friends and Fans that have wished me a speedy recovery. I'm just so glad that this difficult ordeal is over. My Daddy says that he and I still have lots of good deeds to do on this earth before our time comes. I want to remind you again to observe your cat closely after they have their yearly vaccinations. Well, I'd better go take my nightly nap now. Until next time, Ciao, Meow and bye Yeow.

Princess Sugar Pie places her healing paw on Baby Bird's head!

Dear Friends and Fans of Princess Sugar Pie,

On Thursday July 9th, I took Princess Sugar Pie over to Seymour Veterinarian Clinic to have another Photoshoot with "Baby Bird". This one went much better because both animals were more prepared. Sandy Richardson owner/trainer of Baby Bird is holding him, while I'm holding Princess Sugar Pie. Tri-County News in Seymour may do an upcoming article on Princess sugar Pie and Baby Bird so stay tuned. Until next time, Ciao, Meow and Bye Yeow! Note: Lisa Lavin took both photos!

See Starling named "Baby Bird" speak out about "Dolly Parton" on the "Tennessee Traveler"!

Sorry the video is no longer available!

Sandy Richardson is a good friend of Princess Sugar Pie and Me! Sandy's cat named "Baby Bug Miller" won "1st Place" and "Best Cat" in the 2009 "Tennessee Valley CFA" Cat Show's "Household Pet" division. Princess Sugar Pie won "1st Place" and "Best Cat" for 2008. I was glad that "Baby Bug" won because she is blind!

Yesterday, on July 1st, Princess Sugar Pie and I traveled to the Seymour Veterinary Clinic to see "Sandy" and meet "Baby Bird". We really enjoyed our visit there meeting all the staff and the 5 veterinarians there. Princess Sugar Pie made many Adoring New Fans there when she performed her "Cat Trick's routine. However, Baby Bird wasn't in a talkative mood and Princess Sugar Pie hissed at Sandy and Baby Bird when their pictures were made together. Oh well!Sometimes things don't work as planned! Well, I'd better go take a cat nap! Until next time, Ciao, Meow and bye Yeow!

Dear Friends and Fans of Princess Sugar Pie,

As y'all already know, I had a photoshoot session on January 28th, 2009 at Tim Burke's "Old Time Photo's" Studio that is located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. During the early part of February, Tim and his girlfriend, Carrie attended an "Old Time Photo" convention that was held in Las Vegas, NV. While there, he entered this picture of me sitting on a western saddle in the "Old Time Photo's" Best Pets division. Tim was awarded a "Blue Ribbon" for his wonderful photo of me. Congratulations to Tim for the great picture that you took of me and to you Carrie for assisting Tim during my photoshoot. Thank you to my Human Daddy for your training me to be such a "Good Girl" and also for your rescuing me. I would not have become so "Famous" without your love, training, persistence, patience and guidance. Well, I'd better go and finish my afternoon cat nap! Until next time, Ciao, Meow and Bye Yeow.

Knoxville's WVLT TV8's CBS Station reran Princess Sugar Pie's "Tennessee Traveler" series with Alan Williams tonight on 6pm news.

Dear Friends and Fans of Princess Sugar Pie,

I wasn't expecting this, but Knoxville's CBS station; WVLT TV8, reran the Alan Williams interview with me and my Human Daddy called "Therapy Cat" tonight on the 6pm news. It caught us all by surprise at our household. I guess that Alan Williams really took a shine to me when he interviewed me back in March of 2008. Alan is sweet on me. I love you too Alan. If you were here, I would give you a Kissy and Huggy. I was so glad that we had channel 8 news on at the time the rerun took place. I even watched the rerun myself while I sat in my Human Daddy's lap. Thank you Alan and all your staff at WVLT TV8 for giving me a chance to have my first, ever, TV interview. I still can't get over that this was my 3rd time on the "Tennessee Traveler" series. Y'all are a real swell bunch over at Channel 8. Well, I'd better go back to bed now and take a long nightly cat nap. Until next time, Ciao, Meow and Bye Yeow.

I was attacked by neighborhood Feral Tom Cat, but I'm Ok!

Dear Friends and Fans of Princess Sugar Pie,

On Friday, April the 24th, while I was on my leash, sitting on my front porch with my Human Daddy, while minding my own business, I was attacked by the neighborhood's Feral Tom Cat. He came up to sniff me and not liking it, I placed my paw on his head to keep him back. After that, he started growling at me. When I turned away, from him, he grabbed me around my back which caused me to scream. The attack also scared my Human Daddy as well as my Feline Family. When my Daddy started hollering at the Tom Cat, he ran away. After my Daddy unleashed me, I was so scared that I didn't know what to do but run inside the house. Fortunately, I was not hurt. This was the "Very First" time that I have ever been attacked, because I usually stand my ground and run the other Bad Cat(s) off.

On Saturday, I rode with my Daddy in his Pickup Truck over to the Sevier County Animal Shelter to deliver the Feral Tom Cat to his temporary new home. The Feral Feline rode in the back of the truck in an old "Dog Pet Porter" that my Daddy uses as as an extra "Cat Bed", when the other cats need a place to rest and get out of the sun. My Daddy managed to capture the Feral Cat about a couple of hours before we took him to the Animal Shelter, after gaining the Feral Feline's trust a little over a week before this happened. Prior to this incident, my Daddy was able to pet and brush the Feral Tom Cat which made his capture very easy. My Daddy seems to have a way with Feral Cats while making them calm down and feel at ease. Since the Sevierville Police Department's Animal Control Officer was "off duty", Daddy was the only person that could transport the Feral Feline to Shelter. Hopefully, the Feral Tom Cat will be adopted very soon, after the Animal Shelter has him neutered. I was so glad that Daddy saved me, my Step-son, Step-daughter, and Step-sister from this mean spirited Feral Cat. I am so thankful for that! Until next time, Ciao, Meow and Bye for Neow.

Princess Sugar Pie enjoys Free Cone Day 2009 at Ben & Jerry's.

Dear Friends and Fans of Princess Sugar Pie,

On Tuesday, April the 21st, my owner/trainer and I visited Ben & Jerry's Tanger-Five Oaks Sevierville location, during their Free Cone Day celebration. While there, I was seen tasting some Ben & Jerry's whipped cream out of a cup, which I really enjoyed. I want to Thank the staff at Ben & Jerry's for giving me such a warm welcome. I enjoyed meeting them and meeting my many new Friends and Fans there too. They had 1,000 customers stop by for a free ice cream cone which was really something. You will be able to see my picture plus other pictures of Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day when you visit Ben & Jerry's Facebook by clicking the above link. I had a wonderful time at Ben & Jerry's. Got to go finish taking my morning nap. Until next time, Ciao, Meow and Bye Yeow.

Meet Klepto Jack the Cat Burglar on CNN. He is very funny. We once owned a dog that brought home clothes from all over the neighborhood.

When I was a young boy growing up on St. Simons Isl. Georgia, we had a White Cocker Spaniel named Sissy (#2) that would bring home clothes from all over the neighborhood and island. We would always have an clothes line full of unmatching shoes, clothes, underwear and even a black bra. When a neighbor's child hobbled over to retrieve one of her missing shoes, Mother had enough and gave Sissy to our housekeeper. Before Mother gave Sissy away, the dog came home with a paper milk carton on her head. I yelled for mother to see Sissy before I was able to pull the carton off. To this day, I do not know how that ever happened and I still laugh about that dog.

Stan Brock, founder of "Remote Area Medical" and co-star of "Wild Kingdom" holds Princess Sugar Pie - Famous Therapy and Show Cat!

Dear Friends and Fans of Princess Sugar Pie,

On Sunday March the 15th, Princess Sugar Pie and I traveled over to Pigeon Forge High School where Stan Brock and his wonderful group of volunteers were holding a free medical clinic for people who can't afford proper medical care or are under insured.Stan founded "Remote Area Medical" back in 1985 and he and his volunteers provide free medical treatment, eye care and dental care to those who can't afford it. He and his RAM volunteers also travel to remote parts of the World to provide medical care. He usually flies the group to remote areas in a restored 1940's C47, or what is also known as the civilian version of the DC-3. Stan also has Veterinarian Volunteer's that help Spay and Neuter Pet's whose owners can't afford to have that done. Prior to his founding RAM, Stan Brock managed a big cattle operation and before that, he was well known for helping Marlin Perkins produce and co-star in Mutual of Omaha's "Wild Kingdom. One of Stan's Co-Stars was Jim Fowler. Please click on my blog's title to get to Stan Brock's "Remote Area Medical Foundation's" website! It is a very interesting about Stan and his foundation.

Back in the 1970's when I was a teenager, I first met Stan at the Gatlinburg Airport where he was promoting his Movie "The Forgotten Wilderness" while giving free flying lessions. I had my picture taken with Stan as part of the Movie's promotion where he was signing my flight log book. We were supposed to have a "Ocelot" which is a Wildcat that is native to the Southwest and parts of Central and South America as part of the photo shoot, but Peggy Roberts, who was the Airport Manager at the time, also had her Irish Setter there too. When Peggy's dog started circling Stan's airport rental car while barking, it upset the Ocelot so much that it shredded the back of the front seat from inside it's cage in Stan's car. The Wildcat was so upset that we couldn't have him in the photo shoot. Peggy, Stan, my folk's, me and other's couldn't help but laugh before the photo shoot took place. I never knew that such a small wildcat could do so much damage.

I think that helped me to later decide to work as a National Park Ranger in "Visitor Protection" and "Resource Management" which I did for over 10 years. I worked with Wild Animals of all kinds while while working in my different "duty stations". I would have continued working for the "USNPS" and probably would have been retired if they had only put me on "Permanent Duty" status. I will always miss that profession that i still love. Well, I just had to tell that story.

I'm planning on volunteering myself and Princess Sugar Pie as one of Remote Area Medical's volunteer's. Princess Sugar Pie will make a great Spokscat for their "Spay and Neuter" program. Well, Thank you Stan and all of your volunteer's for all you do. Also, thank you Princess Sugar Pie too. Y'all spread so much happiness and love to so many. Until next time, Ciao, Meow and Bye Yeow!

The results of Princess Sugar Pie's photo shoot!

Dear Feline fans and Friends,

I had my photo shoot yesterday at Tim Burke's "Old Time Photo" and everything went well. Tim wanted to take some pictures of me,in costume,to show at a "Old Time" Professional Photographer's Convention that is coming up in Las Vegas. We were all pleased that the photos turned out so well. Tim and his girlfriend Carrie have a cat that is not very calm when it comes to photo shoots, so that is why they picked me. He has seen my work and the way that I pose for pictures for my owner/trainer. Tim plans to give my owner/trainer Jim some wonderful photos along with a couple of CD's. That can come in handy for publicity photos in Advertising, TV etc. Jim will give Tim a couple of my newest photos that Jim took a couple of weeks ago when we pick up the 2 picture CD's today. Until next time, Ciao, Meow and Bye Yeow!

Love and Purrs,

Princess Sugar Pie

Note: I later found out that Tim won first place with a "Blue Ribbon" which will give him the recognition that he deserves at the "Old Time Photo Convention" in Las Vegas. His "Award Winning Photo" that was taken of me was "little Cowgirl" sitting on her Western Saddle!
